'Today' Show Makes Dance Dreams Come True
Derek Hough joined Megyn Kelly to help turn a California mom of two's dance dreams into reality on the "Today" show earlier this week.
Megyn Kelly hit the dance floor on Tuesday's "Today" show to help a California mother of two fulfill a touching tribute to her lost love ones.
After her mother, Diane, died of cancer in 2009, Katie Bly tragically lost her sister, Crystal, a mere few months later in a car accident. On her 32nd birthday, the age that Crystal was when she passed away, Bly made the decision to live her life in memory of her mother and sister.
"I want to live every day after 32 to the fullest -- not just for me but for [Crystal], since she didn't get to," Bly promised.
When Bly heard about Today's "Summer of Yes" series, which encourages people to try new experiences, she reached out to the show with a simple, yet nerve-racking, request: She wanted to learn how to swing dance.
With the aid of Kelly and the expertise of Dancing with the Stars" pro and "World of Dance" judge Derek Hough, Bly was instructed in some classic and powerful ballroom dance moves at Julz Tocker's Just Dance studio in Los Angeles.
"Dance is about fun and just expressing yourself and having a good time," Hough reminded her.
