The Hollywood DanceSport Championships is marking its ninth anniversary in style at the Universal Hilton in Los Angeles from Oct. 31 to Nov. 5.

Event organizers Michael Chapman, Mary Murphy, and Jonathan Roberts are leading figures in the industry and have a reputation for crafting competitions that are aesthetically gorgeous and, of course, unbelievably fun to watch.

This combination is what fuels the growth of HDSC year after year and attracts the top talent and judges from all over the U.S.

As an event steeped in old Hollywood ambiance, the HDSC is treating its competitors and viewers alike to a special Halloween-themed production at this year's event on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

The theme of Friday night's show is "Hollywood Extravaganza," while Saturday will also see the latest edition of the event's highly anticipated Halloween Bash.

“Judges come dressed in costumes, and Mary, Jon, and myself perform a special dance routine that is just off-the-charts funny,” Chapman said. 

And if that’s not enough to get excited about, Sunday represents the biggest kids day in America for the dancesport community. Over 400 kids will be present in the ballroom competing in various categories from 9 AM until around 6 PM PST. As expected, all of the industry's major vendors — from hair and makeup to costumes and jewelry — will be present throughout the week.

Some of the best talent in America will be in attendance, including the Jensens, who are the favorites to win the open cabaret division, and Nick and Viktorija, the current U.S. and World American Smooth champions, making for an exciting week of dance and entertainment.
